The Moon

Yesterday I made my first entrance into astrophotography with modest means. A simple mobile phone, with a 64 MP camera, attached with a low-budget adapter to a 25 mm lens, and a Sky-Watcher 114/900 EQ1 telescope. Additionally, I took the pictures from my home's living room. I played with exposure, white balance, and aperture, and I find the result satisfactory enough. I am uploading here the ones that I feel look the best.

They are a little fuzzy, and they lack sharpness. I do not know if it's because of the seeing, because I have no moon filter, because I did not have the telescope properly focused, or because of some other cause I am not aware of. In any case, I think that given that the pictures have no editing (I do not know how to do it yet) and that this is my first time, they are good enough.

We'll keep trying!

Update 25-04-2026:

After following a tutorial on stacking and editing with Siril, and doing a little color correction with GIMP, I was able to get a more detailed picture. It is clear that in order to get clear images one has to know some editing.

I believe I have exeeded myself with some corrections, and some lunar regions are clearer than others. Nevertheless, I am really happy with how this first try at editing went.
